ABOUT

Spectroscopic Binary Solver (SBS) is a graphically interactive software
application used to determine first the period and then the remaining
relevant orbital parameters of a binary star system based on a given
data file of observed radial velocities. SBS will solve for either
single-line or double-line data sets.

INSTALL

Double-click on 'install.msi' to install the software on a
Windows PC. SBS has been tested on Windows 98, 2000 and XP. An 800
MHz or better CPU is suggested for smooth performance.

SCREEN DISPLAY

SBS normally requires a 1024x768 resolution display (or better).
Alternatively, the user may copy the special compacted 800x600 version
over the original 'SBS.exe' file after the software has been installed.

DATA FILES

The data files must be of the PC format. UNIX formatted data files
will cause an error. It is easy to convert UNIX text files to PC text
files with various text editors and/or utilities. TextPad is suggested
for Windows computers.
